Steam provides the user with installation and automatic management of software across multiple computers, community features such as friends lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality. Though initially developed for use on Microsoft Windows, the client has expanded to include a Mac OS X version and a port currently in public beta to Linux, and clients with limited functionality on the PlayStation 3 console and for both iOS and Android mobile devices. In addition to being a central hub for gaming software, Valve has created a version of Steam with altered functionality to be used in schools for educational software, including a modified version of Portal 2 for teaching science and critical thinking lessons.

Oct 29, 4 This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game looks amazing and the music is great. The plot is shallow, filled with characters that are generic, lifeless, and utterly devoid of any reason as to why you might care about them. The main baddy, Gaul, has no motivation for anything he does other than “he’s a bad guy”, no backstory, and no reason for doing anything he does. The NPC protagonists are lifeless, flat, 2-dimensional objects who serve no purpose except as narrative devices to further what can only generously be called a plot.
Oct 02, · as far as PC is concerned it would depend on if your Bad-ass data is a local data (In My documents\My Games\Borderlands 2) or cloud data which is linked to your steam or w/e and im guessing Xbox can be done based on profile too.
History[ edit ] The idea of GamersGate was conceived by Paradox Interactive in after numerous fan requests for better access to Paradox’s games were finally answered in the form of direct downloads. After Paradox sold a game to an Argentine fan via a download link that was later removed, word spread on the Paradox forums and international fans began asking if they too could purchase video games through downloads.
On 20 November , the system was officially launched under the name “Gamer’s Gate”. Interest in the service grew such that in , after other publishers requested that Gamer’s Gate distribute their games as well, Paradox decided to separate the service into an independent company called “GamersGate”. GamersGate is a client-free service that does not require users to log on in order to play purchased games. In a January article for Escapist magazine, columnist Shamus Young speculated that these features would appeal to gamers opposed to the passive DRM validation, always-on DRM , and mandatory client program downloads that were common to many of GamersGate’s top competitors.
The first major redesign occurred in May when they adopted a design that Rock, Paper, Shotgun ‘s Alec Meer described as ” GoG -esque” and “shiny”.

Press Release Borderlands has just been added to GameRanger. This should solve some of the online co-op problems people have been having with the built-in service.
Crash when joining host (Borderlands 2) We’re aware of an issue where the game may crash for a client when attempting to join a game where the host is in the map “The Mines of Avarice”. Our engineers are currently investigating possible resolutions to be included in a future update.
Please reference your additions so others can easily verify their accuracy. Games that never had third-party DRM are omitted from this list; this includes sequels to the games listed here. Add the game below with the relevant news post or forum topics as references. Add it to the appropriate Account-based DRM section. Common types have their own sections. Post the details on the project talk page. Use a link to that post as a reference for its entry below. Account-based DRM[ edit ] DRM associated with accounts is weaker than most but still present, requiring online activation via CD key to access online services such as multiplayer and profile stats.
These games require you to activate the game through their servers and use their accounts to activate the game, and many require these accounts to access the game. For single-player games, account-based DRM often does not affect the game to any real degree, as you can play them with an offline profile without activation.
Because of this, many consider single-player account-based DRM to not be DRM at all because it does not require any contact beyond having the packages installed; no Internet connection is required. Completely optional; if you don’t play online you can simply ignore it. More about it here.

I love this commercial fishing simulator, and not just because it has a fish-gutting minigame Fishing: Barents Sea Maybe it’s because after playing the Sea of Thieves beta I just wanted to spend time on a boat again. Maybe it’s because since Zelda N64 I will play any game that lets you go fishing.

Despite how I felt about it then, it did have a few things going for it such as the shooting mechanics which were really good and some of the concepts that its bare bones narrative grasped at straws to try and explain. The disastrous interview with Luke Smith, the creative director behind Destiny, with Eurogamer initially turned me off of buying the expansion. Then I realized I had a rebate coupon that I could use to knock the price down and an insatiable curiosity to know if it actually could be better.
The rest is installation history. For me, Destiny always seemed weirdly late to the party in the face of other systems in the gaming space that used the same elements albeit more successfully. Whether it was a bold attempt to try something new and not getting it, I have no idea.

In fact, most of us love it with a face-melting, loot-whoring, damage-counting passion—though some of us aren’t quite so fanatical. But, like the pack of reviewers we are, we also know that the game isn’t perfect. Although our official review will give you a broad explanation, I’m here to talk about the one not-so-little problem that’s always bringing my Pandoran adventures down a peg.
So before you point your orange-grade shotguns at my face for even thinking badly of the awesome pack of humor and chaos that Borderlands 2 so truly is, hear me out. For you rock-dwellers out there, you should know that Borderlands 2 is one of the best co-op experiences in recent years. I have been working on a speedrun and I noticed something about luck manipulation in the vending machine. I was in fyrestone trying to luck manipulate a DA. It seems that if you exit from the game within 30 seconds of the loading screen first appearing then the game will not auto save. I was able to confirm this by looking at my playtime and it had not advanced. This meant that I could run over to the vending machine, check it for a DA, and exit and the game would not update my save file.
The result is a significantly easier luck manipulation anywhere you segment break near a vending machine. I haven’t really confirmed whether the time limit for the auto save is 30 seconds from when I select my character or 15 seconds from when I enter the game. My pretty regularly loaded from the menu in 15 seconds which meant that if I ran to the vending machine and confirmed there was nothing I wanted in it then exited in less than 15 seconds I could do that as much as I wanted without causing an illegal segment break.
It’s very easy to do that in 15 seconds which should help my sanity quite a bit on my segmented run.
